my name is Agnieszka Sukiennik, I am a Polish independent visual artist, illustrator and fashion designer, based in Warsaw. With more than 15 years of practical experience in painting, illustration and design fields I created an independent and contemporary brand called ANIESS.
I tried to link form and color, to merge fashion and fine art, feminine style, expressive graphics, chic, originality with simplicity and minimalism of style. I wanted to make art alive, being applicable.
The material which I discovered and adopted as a perfect medium for my purposes and expressions is XXXX – an extraordinary, workable, extremely light, recyclable, waterproof, durable and breathable fabric. It is the main material, which I like to combine with natural leather and fabric in my expositions.
COLLECTIONS:
ILLUSTRATIONS IN MOTION is a project where futuristic illustrations and modern design join together in a fashion performance on the background of “everyday” streets in Warsaw. Graphic vision complemented by hair styling of Polish hair designer and image creator Jaga HupaÅ‚o. The main objective was moving images from closed spaces and placing them in city environment, where they became a part of reality. Elegantly provocative and creative march confronts the viewer and forces him into contemplation and various reactions. This series of illustrations display graphic images of women and non obvious meaning hidden behind typographic "signatures" or slogans like:
where is the limit
this game has no name
it’s not about you any more
he world is upside down
This mysterious walk, was a kind of playful, colourful and vibrant manifesto of originality
and non literal message.
COLOR IMPRESSION concentrates on elusiveness instants and ambience.
Illustrates as bold, strong and contrasting colors integrate together, this time, in abstract compositions. Each piece of artcraft is not printed like the previous collection, but hand painted. With this unrepeatable technique each singular work, making each garment truly one and only.
I created my new two spring/summer collections called MON POLLEN and MON BLUE. My inspirations came from wildness, miraculous, bloom, colors of nature, water, little meadow flowers, waterdrops, marks of rain. Collections are very light, feminine and tenuous. To create this projects, I started with photography, I made a lots of pictures, on countryside, just next to my summer house, then I pained watercolor sketches to create the best composition, which finally was placed, repainted on XXX. In my collections the main medium is hand painted XXX linked with knitwear, polyurethane foam and natural leather.
